Our Material-Safety Lens

Parcelbrijollypigen is an independent guide for small businesses, makers and households who send parcels and want their packaging to do less harm after it is opened.

How we look at materials

We assess every material through two moments: the journey and the aftermath. First, does it protect the item through realistic handling? Second, once opened, can it be contained, reused or sent down a clear disposal route, and could any part escape as loose, tangling or fragmenting waste?

What we avoid

We avoid calling materials "bird-safe," "eco-friendly" or "harmless." Those outcomes depend on exposure, the form the waste takes and what local collections accept. Instead, we describe properties and routes, and we point readers to their own local authority for final decisions.

Independence

We do not sell packaging, take payment for recommendations or run affiliate links. References to standards and organisations such as FSC, PEFC, OPRL, How2Recycle, EN 13432, ISTA, WRAP and the RSPB are for context only and do not imply any endorsement or affiliation.
